Congratulations are in order for Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi, who recently tied the knot, according to Jon Bon Jovi.
As reported by People, the 20-year-old “Stranger Things” star and her 22-year-old fiancé, model Jake Bongiovi, were married in a small, intimate ceremony last weekend.
In an interview on BBC’s “The One Show” on May 28, Bon Jovi shared details about the newlyweds. When asked about how the couple is doing, he responded, “They’re great.” He added, “They’re absolutely fantastic. It was a very small family wedding, and the bride looked gorgeous, and Jake is happy as can be. Yeah, it’s true.”
As of now, neither Brown nor Bongiovi have publicly confirmed or commented on their wedding.
The couple first went public with their relationship in 2021 when Brown posted a photo on Instagram of them sharing a kiss on the London Eye. They have since made several red carpet appearances together, including the premieres of “Enola Holmes 2” and “Stranger Things” season four, as well as walking the 2022 BAFTA Film Awards carpet together.
In May of last year, both Brown and Bongiovi hinted at their engagement through social media posts. Brown captioned a black-and-white photo of them on the beach, with her wearing a diamond ring, “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all.” Bongiovi posted a similar photo with the caption, “Forever.”
Following their engagement, Brown shared with Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) that she was enjoying the wedding planning process, calling it an “exciting time” in her life. She emphasized her desire to keep the wedding details private, saying, “I think probably drawing the curtains, just because there are only so many moments in life that you get only once. And to have everyone’s opinions and eyes looking at that just feels unnatural to me. So I feel it’s important to keep those things — those small precious moments in life — really close to your chest.”
Brown also recounted the humorous yet stressful story of Bongiovi’s proposal on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” She explained that he proposed underwater, and as she showed him the ring, it fell off and sank quickly. Bongiovi dove deep to retrieve it, despite warnings from a diver about the dangers.
Matthew Modine, who portrays Dr. Martin Brenner (Eleven’s “Papa”) on “Stranger Things,” recently told Access Hollywood that he officiated the wedding. “I have one of those licenses to get people married, and Millie thought it’d be great, and then Jake said it would be a great idea, so I wrote the wedding vows, and they loved what I wrote for them to join hands and to become husband and wife,” he said.
In a conversation with Andy Cohen on Cohen’s SiriusXM show “Radio Andy,” Bon Jovi addressed whether he felt his son was too young to marry. “I don’t know if age matters if you find the right partner, and you grow together,” he stated. “My advice really is growing together is wise.” He added, “I think that all of my kids have found the people that they think they can grow together with, and we like them all.”
Regarding whether he has seen Brown in “Stranger Things,” Bon Jovi confirmed that he has. “Millie is wonderful,” he remarked. “Her whole family is great. Jake is very, very happy.”
