Netflix Unveils First Glimpse of ‘Stranger Things’ Season Five Cast and Sets

Netflix has released a behind-the-scenes video offering the first look at the cast and sets of “Stranger Things” season five. The video showcases the now-older Hawkins crew in character, giving fans a sneak peek at the upcoming season’s atmosphere.

“I started when I was 10, I’m now turning 20 years old,” says Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven. “Feels very weird.” Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, adds, “It’s just so exciting. I think this is going to be the best season yet.”

The Duffer Brothers have revealed that production for the final season is about halfway done. Brown previously mentioned that filming is expected to wrap around Christmas, with the season likely premiering in 2025.

Maya Hawke, who plays Robin, recently discussed the season on the Podcrushed podcast. She mentioned that the eight episodes will feel like “eight movies” due to their extended lengths. “Our showrunners, Matt and Ross [Duffer], take a lot of responsibility,” she said. “They have an amazing team of writers, but they’re very involved. They write a lot and they are very intense and serious about the quality of the continued writing, and so it takes a long time to write each season, and a long time to shoot them.”

Three new actors have joined the cast for season five: Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux. While this will be the final season of the main show, the “Stranger Things” universe is expanding. Upcoming projects include “Stranger Things: The First Shadow,” a live stage show in London’s West End, and an untitled animated spinoff series.

Since its debut on Netflix in 2016, “Stranger Things” has become one of the platform’s most popular series. The fourth season alone garnered 140 million views globally.
