Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ Head of TV and Streaming, recently shared exciting updates about upcoming Disney+ projects during an appearance on the official Marvel podcast.
Daredevil: Born Again
Daredevil: Born Again is slated to debut on Disney+ in March 2025. Winderbaum expressed enthusiasm about this series, noting its similarities to X-Men ’97 in reviving beloved characters and stories, but with a fresh twist. He emphasized that both the universe and the characters, like Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, have evolved. Their upcoming confrontations will involve more than physical battles, delving into complex political dynamics.
Eyes of Wakanda
Eyes of Wakanda, expected in 2024, will explore the rich history of Wakanda. Produced by Ryan Coogler and directed by veteran storyboard artist Todd Harris, the series promises intense action and compelling storytelling. Winderbaum highlighted that it not only delves into Wakanda’s past but also intersects with the larger MCU across different time periods, making it a must-watch for fans of the films.
Agatha All Along
Set to premiere in September 2024, Agatha All Along will see Kathryn Hahn returning as Agatha from WandaVision. Winderbaum described the series as a blend of fun and horror, capturing the essence of Halloween with a dramatic and emotional twist. He praised Hahn’s portrayal of Agatha as an intriguing anti-hero, promising a series that will be both entertaining and chilling.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Winderbaum also discussed the animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which focuses on Peter Parker’s early years. Although it does not yet have a release date, the series will feature a mix of familiar and new characters, including Nico Minoru, Lonnie Lincoln, and Harry Osborn. Winderbaum credited showrunner Jeff Trammel for creating an engaging ensemble cast that brings a fresh perspective to Spider-Man’s story.
Each of these projects showcases Marvel’s commitment to expanding its universe with innovative storytelling and beloved characters, promising a thrilling lineup for Disney+ subscribers.
