Though details about the second part of “Bridgerton” Season 3 have been kept mostly under wraps, executive producer Shonda Rhimes offered fans a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming episodes.
Appearing on the Today Show, Rhimes discussed the final episodes set to release on Netflix on June 13. “We’re very secretive about it, but I will say it is sexy and surprising in many ways,” Rhimes shared. “And also, I cried at the end. I found it very moving — and I don’t always cry. So I really got into it. I think it’s a beautiful story.”
This season of the popular romance drama highlights the evolving relationship between Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (portrayed by Nicola Coughlan). In the first part of the season, which premiered on May 16, viewers witnessed Colin and Penelope’s dynamic begin to change, culminating in Colin’s confession of his feelings for Penelope at the end of episode four.
Nicola Coughlan expressed her enthusiasm for the concluding episodes in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I love episodes five and six when they’re in that giddy, giddy time, and they’re so in love because that’s the thing. Some of the best things in this show are when you see people truly in love with one another, so blissfully happy,” she said.
The cast for the third season, which achieved the show’s biggest opening weekend on Netflix, includes Hannah Dodd, Claudia Jessie, Jessica Madsen, Luke Thompson, Martins Imhangbe, Emma Naomi, Hannah New, Sam Phillips, Ruth Gemmell, Jonathan Bailey, and Simone Ashley.
