Production of Stranger Things Season 5 has officially reached its midpoint.
Ross Duffer, co-creator of the series, has been sharing updates on Instagram, and recently posted a picture of the cast and crew with the caption, “Week 24. Happy half way to the best cast and crew ever.” Another slide in the post featured Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, ceremonially dropping a marble into a jar to mark the week’s end.
The production of the last season was initially delayed due to the WGA and SAG strikes in 2023. Season 4, which premiered in two parts in May and July 2022, faced similar challenges. After the strikes concluded in late 2023, the team aimed to resume work in January 2024. True to this plan, production for Season 5 began on January 8.
The Duffer Brothers have mentioned that the episodes in the upcoming season will be shorter than those in Season 4, as stated on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for Stranger Things Season 5, but with filming now at the halfway point, fans can likely expect more updates and teasers in the coming months. In the meantime, the halfway mark is a significant milestone, providing reassurance that the Duffer Brothers and their team are well on their way to delivering another captivating chapter in the Stranger Things saga.
